Natural and Organic
Like most people I have extremely dry skin and ordinary soap
and lotion products don’t work for me. So recently I decided to transition into
all natural and organic products for my skin and hair. It’s been trial and
error but so far most of the products I’ve been using have made a difference in
my skin’s texture and appearance.
HAIR
These are pretty much my stable hair products. I use them just about everyday or every wash day (minus the shampoo). My hair loves these products, they are all amazing.
- Tresemme Nautrals Conditioner ( No parabens and sulfates): I've been using this conditioner for about 2 years now. It's great but I am thinking about switching to Aubrey Organics but I haven't decided yet.
- Renpure Originals Argan Oil Shampoo: I've just recently started using this shampoo, I only shampoo about once a month but when I use it it's amazing. My hair doesn't feel stripped or dry afterwards and they also have a heat protector that comes with the set, which works well.
- Shea Moisture Hair Milk: This hair milk is amazing, I use it every night for my twist and braid outs and it leaves my hair super soft.
- She Moisture Curl Enhancing Smoothie: I love this for wash-n-go's when I do them, it keeps my hair very moisturized
- Carrington FarmsRaw, unrefined, organic Coconut Oil: I purchased this brand from Wegmans, I love coconut oil and I use to lock in the moisture for my hair.
- Red container ( Shea butter + Olive Oil) - I love shea butter mixtures. I whip this up when I do twist or braid outs, it keeps my hair moisturized for 3DAYS!!!!
FACE & BODY
My face is so dry and I really bothers me when I get dry spots when I'm out or at school, so I decided to totally switch my facial regimen.
In the morning: I do a OIL CLEANSING method. I'll explain: I put a nickel size drop of oil, either grape seed, olive or coconut, on my hands rub my hands together and rub it on my face in a circular motion. I then take my face cloth and soak it in HOT water, ring out the water and place the cloth over my face until the cloth completely cools. I repeat this 2 or 3 times and then wipe the oil from my face. I then follow up with a cold rinse to close my pores. Afterwards I use my Eau Roma Water toner and wipe my face again. Next I use my simple moisturizer and then a small amount of raw shea butter on top.
At Night: I use my Herbalism Cleanser (from Lush), I just recently started using this cleanser, that's why I only have a sample size. I wanted to see how it worked on my skin before I committed to buying it. Next I follow up with my toner, simple moisturizer and shea butter.
BODY: Since I grew up using Dove, Tone and Bath and Body Works cleansers, this is what I was tempted to buy first at the store. However, I don't think these cleansers benefit my skin, they are heavy in sulfates which completely strip the last drop of moisture from my skin. So recently I've been using Dr. Bronners Lavender Castile Soap. IT IS AMAZING! I will never switch back to the commercial brands. Castile, is made of 100% natural oils, no sulfates or perservatives to weigh it down and the smell is divine. As a lotion I'll use coconut or olive oil.
- Dr Bronner's Lavender Castile Soap
- Simple Moisturizer
- Eau Roma Water ( Rosemary +Water)
- Coconut Oil
- Pure Shea Butter
- Herbalism ( in the small back container)
Overall I am very satisfied with my new found regimens and products, my skin has done nothing but improve so I'm a happy girl!!
