Who are you?

Most people define themselves by their family, status, past, etc. But according to Genesis 1:26 we are made in the image of God. God made you just like him, in his likeness, shaped, formed and fashioned after him. That means we cannot let natural circumstances define us. In the natural the doctor may say you are sick, but God says by the stripes of Jesus you are healed. Who are you going to believe? According to 2 Corinthians 5:17, anyone who belongs to Christ has become a new person. The old life is gone; a new life has begun! Therefore, we are no longer defined by our past. If someone comes up to you and says “heyyyyy girl, I remember you use to be a wild thing back in the day?” You can say to them I am not that woman any more, I am a new fabulous woman! Don’t let the devil constantly remind you of who you use to be, you are not the woman anymore. So that means depression, low self esteem and promiscuity no longer part of your identity, you are a new person! So stop falling into the trap of the past and press forward to the new life that God has given you. Even If you have to confess everyday, I am a new person in Christ, my old life has passed away, do it. Because trust me the devil will constantly remind you of who you were 10, 15, 20 years ago. And if that’s what you’re always thinking about, you’ll eventually go back to that place. Take on the thoughts of God, get into the word and remind yourself everyday that you are who God says you are!
