Building off of yesterdays post I have 5 more tips to help anyone overcome low self esteem. I am not in any way a psychiatrist or psychologist but I have used these tips myself and they have worked.

7. Be quick to forgive

I know many times when someone hurts us we tend to hold on to that pain and anger and sometimes for years. One thing I do know is you can never move on with your life or from any situation without forgiveness. Forgive that person for bullying you, that classmate who called you fat or your mom for tearing you down. The longer you dwell on that pain the longer you give it power over your life and the harder it will be to move. I always make sure that if someone hurts me, I always forgive them within the first 5 minutes of being angry. What can that anger do for me? Nothing, its not adding to my life so I might as well get rid of it. Do yourself a favor and FORGIVE!

8. Fall in love with yourself

Since you can't escape you and you bring yourself everywhere you go, you might as well love your self. Take some time away from social media, friends and any distracts and go to quite place and enjoy the presence of yourself. Look at yourself in the mirror and admire your beauty. Make peace with your thighs and start admiring the positive things about you. Find one thing that you love about yourself everyday, thank God you have that beautiful feature and soon enough you'll begin to look at those places you once despised in a new light.

9.Don't look to others to make you happy

This is a big thing most young girls find themselves doing. Looking to a man or your friends to make you happy. First, I want to say if you are not happy yourself NO ONE will ever be able to make you happy. No matter how hard they try it just won't be enough for you. If you think about it, who wants to be in a relationship with someone who isn't happy, that baggage will eventually bring the other person down. I don't want to be in any relationship with a angry, grumpy, or sad man who complains about how much I don't make him happy or how I'm not giving him what he needs. No, what he needs is a new attitude. Imagine being friends with someone like that, would you want that type of friend. Then don't be that friend to someone else. Every relationship, whether work related, or personal is about a mutual exchange. It's about what can you both bring to the table, how can I enhance your life, how can I help you in the areas where you are weak. Not about what you can do me and if you can't then peace! Examine your heart to see if you are truly happy with yourself or are you seeking someone to meet your needs and make you happy. If so then you need to do some soul searching and start making yourself happy and then you'll be able to share your happiness with others.

10. Write yourself love notes

I love doing this! Find a stack of post-its, write yourself love notes and put them around your room, in your bathroom or on the fridge. I would write things like; you're beautiful, you're the bomb.com or God made you perfect so enjoy yourself. Try it!

11. Wake up every morning and tell yourself you are beautiful

What you think and say in the morning will the determine your mood for the rest of the day. If you wake up saying "Oh great Monday, another day at my job hearing people complain, I'm so sick of this." Then your day will suck, I will tell you that. But if you start your morning saying" Thank you Lord for waking me up today, today is going to be a great day, its beautiful outside and I'm beautiful," you're going to have a awesome day! Even if you're having a bad hair day, look in the mirror and say "oh well at least I still look cute." Look in the mirror everyday and tell yourself you are beautiful. If you do that long enough, no one is going to be about to tell you nothing!
